The district would like to start a directory that will contain information about our alumni. Information such as colleges attended and graduated from, degrees earned, places of employment, present address, married names, names of children, etc. We believe that this information will be useful to the district in a variety of ways; and we also believe that many Laurens graduates have gone onto some very interesting and successful types of work, occupations and adventures. With their permission, we would like to be able to share these experiences with our present students and with our community. For example, it might be a nice idea to highlight an alumni each month in the newsletter. The district is also considering the development of informational brochures about the school to be handed out at school and community events and/or placed in local real estate offices. The purpose of this will be to foster positive public relations about our school.
Gathering this type of information will be an ongoing process. You will probably see this article or a similar one in future newsletters. The attached information form will also be available through the superintendents office. Please feel free to call the school and ask for more copies for relatives, neighbors, and friends who have Laurens graduates in their families. It is our hope that parents of graduates will be instrumental in helping us gather this information.
